Top grip and reel.

The reel is a Pflueger Medalist 1498.
Cork is super comfortable and extremely light. Ready to get more cork and the reel seat.

November 30th

ITS SNOWING!
Yes get that chrome in the rivers some more.
Got my Reel in the mail all the way from BC in Southwestern Canada.
Switched it over to LHR and loaded it up with a skagit head and tips in 5' 7' and 10'. Hoping to get a 5wt switch soon for those Clearwater browns and Grand river bronzebacks.

November 11, 2011

We decided to head to a popular area on the lower stretch of this particular stream. We were greeted by only 2 cars. Getting excited we geared up and headed down to the river. I chose to break out my center- pin  for a change, I like to switch it up. The first dunk came in quick order.

One chunky female
Before you knew it, dunk number two came around, I hooked and landed a nice male. Two for two-I was grinning. I even caught my favorite friend- a skipper. I'm still batting 100! I got to meet up with a couple friends-my buddy Alan and his friend Sam. After struggling a bit at first he finally hit this chromer on a purple Egg-Sucking leach.

Sam is a SUPER FUN guy to fish with, he might be the funniest guy on the creek-especially when he is hooked up with a fish! WHOOAAA!!! YAAA!!!

After a short walk upstream dad finally got the funk off! This dime fought like hell! Dad was grinning again! After a couple nice pics she swam off strong!

As I walked upstream I had high hopes for the next hole. My first pass I was down, hooked into a fresh fish. The fish fought me, brought me through through two split logs, under another one, jumped and finally wrapped me! I tried to get him out but he had me good, nothing to do but to break him off. I retied and two drifts later the same thing happened! Damn! Frustrated, I took a short break. Soon after I hear Sam hooting FISH!, FISH! Yes! He brought his fish to hand for a quick picture.

Dad caught a pig of a fish but no-one was there to take a pic. The day was a good one, mission accomplished! See you on the creek!

Weekend Review

Well folks, sorry it is so late, its amazing how much more time high school takes up as opposed to grade school. Any way we began our day up high on the river with no luck! We stopped at several different spots with nothing to show. Getting frustrated we headed to a popular stretch down low. As we walk up to the first pool, we are gladly greeted by only one fellow fisherman-just as planned! After 3-5 drifts, my float goes down, set the hook with a silver bullet at the end, within 5 seconds he was on the other side of the river jumping like crazy! One jump, and the torpedo comes unbuttoned. Try again. with 3 more drifts I hook up again. After a solid fight I brought this nice buck to hand.

After another walk upstream I hooked and landed one more fish. Even though the numbers weren't crazy it was a beautiful day to be out. To put the icing on the cake, Brett swung up this brute with the light quickly fading.

Sunday was a lazy day watching the "CLOWNS" squeak by with the W. That team sure does test your loyalty!

Finally, Rain!

After a couple weeks with minimal rain, we finally got some relief. An unusual Fall thunderstorm with 35+ MPH winds and torrential downpours, my street looked like a hurricane had passed through with the whole street flooded and debris everywhere. The steelhead Gods are looking down on us!
I was reminded of this...
